Patrick Acton completed his matchstick model of J.R.R. Tolkien's Minas Tirith on February 15, 2010. He started work on April 7, 2007. That is almost 3 years from start to finish. This model is Acton's biggest and most detailed matchstick model yet. It is made up of 420,000 matches. Minas Tirith will be on display at the Matchstick Marvels Tourist Center in Gladbrook, IA for one year.
